Ingredients:
2 nos. Pomfrets, sliced, washed and cleaned
Marination:
1 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp pepper powder
1 tbsp Lemon juice
1 tsp Salt
1 tbsp coconut oil
For Moilee Gravy
2 tbsp coconut oil
1 tsp mustard seeds (optional)
15-20 curry leaves
1 cup Red Onion, thinly sliced
1 medium Tomato sliced
2-inch pc Ginger, julienned
2 cloves Garlic, sliced
2 slit green chillies
1 tsp Pepper Powder
1 cup thin Coconut milk extract
1/2 cup thick coconut milk extract
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp lemon juice
Method of preparation:
Marinate the fish with coconut oil, turmeric powder, lemon juice, pepper powder, salt, give it a good mix. Keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.
Chop the tomatoes, onions, ginger, garlic into slices and slit the green chilies.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, julienes of ginger, garlic, green chilies, give a quick stir, while it is cooking add onions.
Saute the onios on moderate flames, add salt, once the onions turn
translucent add turmeric and give it a quick stir.
Add thin coconut milk, give it a stir and allow the onions to soften.
At this stage add salt if required and give it a stir, and add in the marinated pieces of fish and the sliced tomatoes.
Give it a stir lightly and cook it till the fish is well done.
Once it is done add thick coconut milk and lemon juice.
Turn the flame off and give it a swirl
Tip: Do not mix it with a spoon.
