On Wednesday, traffic on Countryside Boulevard in Clearwater, Florida came to halt due to an injury.
The wounded party was an eagle that touched down on the roadway and appeared to be having some mobility issues.
Wildlife workers were called and the bird was transported to Busch Gardens.
Experts there identified the problem as a bone chip, which they surgically removed.
The eagle is now recovering at the theme park, and, once rehabilitated, will be returned to the place where it was found.
The Clearwater Police Department has been posting eagle-related updates on its Facebook page, and the public has been responding with messages of thanks and appreciation.
