Austria: A controversial fence to secure the border

INTERNATIONAL PAPERS - Thurs. 29.10.15: Austria is in the spotlight. Yesterday, the government announced that it plans to build a fence at its main crossing with Slovenia to control the flow of migrants. It would be the first such fence between two Schengen zone members. Also, police raids in Turkey have prompted concerns over media freedom ahead of a key election on Sunday and papers react to Ivory Coast and President Alassane Ouattara's re-election there.
