Former President Jimmy Carter cut his trip to Guyana short after feeling unwell.

He had gone there to monitor elections taking place on Monday. However, due to health reasons, he flew back to Atlanta on
Sunday.

His foundation, The Carter Center, did not specify the ailment but did release a statement which reads in part, "President Carter was not feeling well and has departed Guyana to return to Atlanta today. The Carter Center election observation mission in Guyana is continuing its work and will keep him informed of developments."
