Police in D.C. have released surveillance footage showing a person of interest stealing a bicycle. The incident occurred on Sunday, January 4th.

The bike had been parked on the sidewalk and chained up with no owner in sight. It caught the attention of one man who gravitated towards it and quickly went to work in an effort to unsecure it from the bike rack.

He messed with the lock and fiddled with the front tire for several brief moments before realizing he was going to have to try something else. Judging by the video the suspect knew exactly what he was doing because he abruptly switched tactics and detached the front wheel from the remainder of the bicycle.
