Shipping companies are exceptionally busy during the holidays and usually operations run pretty smoothly. A recent tractor trailer crash, however, caused some issues for FedEx.

Just ten days before Christmas, hundreds of packages spilled onto a roadway in New Jersey. One of the trailers attached to the FedEx rig overturned on an interstate ramp.

The incident occurred during the early morning hours of Monday. That could potentially be the worst time for a FedEx-related accident.

Staffers said that it might be the busiest day of the year pertaining to shipments, as it was the last date to send packages by parcel post to have them arrive in time for Christmas.

A second FedEx truck was dispatched to the scene to pick up the spilled boxes and transport them to the next destination, which will hopefully prevent any unexpected delays.

The stretch of roadway where the accident occurred was temporarily closed off and traffic was detoured while the cleanup efforts were underway.

Fortunately no injuries were reported, however FedEx officials have not released if any of the packages were damaged.
