A photo currently making the rounds on social media is melting hearts across the country. In it, a two-year-old girl is showing the camera a huge smile.

The reason why it’s so special is because the photo was taken moments after the formerly missing child was found. On Thursday, the toddler identified as Brooklyn Lilly was found less than a mile away from her home in Michigan.

Her family had reported her missing on Wednesday after she wandered away from home. Her relatives were left fearing someone had abducted her.

State police officials, deputies and firefighters launched a search right away. Storms in the area hampered the efforts, however a trooper and his K-9 still managed to spot her.

She wasn’t moving, but suddenly she lifted her little head and smiled at her rescuers. Brooklyn was wrapped in a jacket and scooped up off the ground.

The assistant fire chief for the Tawas City Fire Department, Jeffery Seyfried was there for that moment. He explained “I asked her, I said ‘Brooklyn, can I take your picture?’ She looked up and gave me this great big smile and I said, ‘Thank you,’ and she says, ‘I love the woods.”

Brooklyn has since been reunited with her family. She did sustain some scratches from her 22-hour stay in the woods, but aside from that she’s unharmed.
