CYCLONE HUDHUD TAKES INDIA BY STORM
 
Uprooted trees, houses ripped apart, Visakhapatnam airport completely destroyed, with part of its roof torn off … just some of the images there that have been doing the rounds online testifying to the extent of damage caused by cyclone Hudhud after it battered the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday. Many in India took to social networks to follow and comment on the progression of this devastating natural disaster.
A lot of web users have posted photos of the destruction online, they have also shared amateur video footage filmed as cyclone Hudhud slammed into India`s eastern seaboard: Spectacular images that give us an idea of the intensity of the rains and gusts that pounded India on Sunday.
And social networks are not simple a platform for sharing photos and videos of the cyclone, along with the aftermath. Indian web users are also using social media to coordinate relief efforts for the thousands affected. They have been sharing emergency hotlines set up the authorities via Twitter, and also listing the hundreds of shelters able to take in those who have lost everything to cyclone Hudhud.
