King Richard III’s Cause Of Death Determined

Researchers say they have finally determined a probable cause for the death of King Richard III.

King Richard III had the shortest reign of any known British king, dying in battle just over 2 years after his coronation.

Researchers say they have finally determined his probable cause of his death.

Part of the long wait for an autopsy was due to the fact that it was unclear where the king had been buried.

His remains were found beneath a parking lot in England in 2012.

Using CT technology, scientists discovered that the 32-year-old royal had sustained three potentially deadly blows - two to the head, and one to the pelvis.

It’s believe the cranial strikes were the ones that put an end to Richard, the reign of the House of York, and the War of the Roses.

In all, researchers found evidence of 11 wounds on the king's remains.

They say that the injuries were inflicted both before and after Richard’s death.

Forensic findings suggest that the attack involved several assailants armed with various kinds of medieval weaponry.

The researchers’ discoveries support many historical accounts of what happened during the battle, but since the order of injuries can't be determined not all details can be verified.
