A couple in Pennsylvania was successfully able to cross out everything on their bucket list in a matter of months. Jenna and Dan Haley are expecting a little boy who they’ve already named Shane, but he isn't expected to survive.
Usually, people have years to check off items on their bucket list. But for one couple in Pennsylvania, they were successfully able to cross out everything on their list in a matter of months.
Jenna and Dan Haley are expecting a little boy whom they’ve already named Shane. Their child has been diagnosed with Anencephaly, which means it’s very unlikely he’ll survive.
Most babies with the condition die shortly after birth. Anencephaly is a severe birth defect in which infants are born without parts of the skull and brain.
Since the couple knew in advance that time with their son will likely be short, they decided to make a ‘bucket list’ to enjoy precious moments as a family while Shane is in Jenna’s belly.
Dan explained “Most families wait until their baby is born to start making memories and traveling to places with them… We wanted to make the most of the time that we had with him.”
On September 6th, they completed their last desired journey. Shane’s due date is October 12th.
The family has traveled to zoos, several beaches and shrines. They’ve also attended some sports games and met team players.
Jenna, Dan and Shane took a trip to New York City, where they saw sights like Central Park, Times Square, the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building and the 9/11 memorial.
The couple shared their adventures on Facebook and have gained quite a following from well-wishers who are hoping and praying that Shane will be a surviving miracle baby.
