Heavy rains on the upper stream have led to an angry, raging Hukou Waterfall. Now, the monster waterfall, which happens to be the largest on the Yellow River is giving tourists a major thrill and also providing the perfect photo or video focal point.

The Hukou Waterfall is the second largest waterfall in China and it’s the only yellow one in the world.

For years, the beautiful natural wonder has attracted visitors from all over the globe, but in recent days, there are more people flocking to it. Heavy rains on the upper stream have led to an angry, raging Hukou Waterfall.

Water from upstream reservoirs flowed in the Yellow River, which has caused it to swell. Now, the monster waterfall, which happens to be the largest on the river is giving tourists a major thrill and also providing the perfect photo or video focal point.

Typically, the width of the waterfall changes with the season, ranging from 98 feet to over 160 feet wide during flood season, and is result of the stream reaching a narrow valley that suddenly drops over 800 feet.

Currently, the width measures about 300 meters, or nearly 1,000 feet across. The river is reportedly flowing at an astoundingly rapid rate of 1,500 cubic meters per second.

The raging falls are now an impressive, yet slightly scary, must see destination. In 2013, locals and tourists got to witness a similar occurrence.

Back then, rising levels also caused the water to violently cascade down Hukou Waterfall, but the rate of the water was estimated to be only roughly 1,000 cubic meters per second.
