Police in Philadelphia are searching for a teenage boy who has been accused of placing an explosive device inside a local Chinese restaurant. On Wednesday evening, at a little after 8:30 the explosive detonated in the waiting area of the Oriental Kitchen Take-Out.

When surveillance footage was later reviewed, cops learned a boy walked into the restaurant and planted the device in a small access panel in a wall. The young suspect then fled the building.

At first it flamed up, but only seconds later an explosion broke out. Fortunately nobody was injured but the restaurant did sustain unspecified damages.

Police have released the restaurant’s footage to the public, hoping someone will be able to identify the suspect. Law enforcement describes him as an African American male who is approximately 14 years old.

During the crime, he was wearing black jeans and a blue shirt. There were a number of other kids outside the building when the device was planted, who were witnessed riding bicycles.

Local residents are warned not to approach the boy if he is recognized but instead they’re told to contact 911 right away.
