The floor-to-ceiling windows of the hospital’s Central Café dining room received most of the damage. There was a level amount of liquid on the floor before a heavy stream burst through the windows and rapidly flowed into the building.
It appeared as though a waterfall was pouring into the structure. Countless chairs and tables were pushed around and flipped over due to the insanely strong current.
The hospital basement was left flooded along with a number of localized sections inside the main building. The facility’s storm water retention system and life stations functioned properly throughout the flash flood, however the massive volume of liquid was too much for the network.
The hospital used its Facebook page to note “To say that we’re emotional about the whole situation is a bit of an understatement… We’re so relieved that no patients, staff or physicians were injured in this incident.”
