32-year-old Sarah Harkins was pronounced dead at a local hospital when a brain aneurysm burst, due to an allergic reaction brought on by the bee stings.

“In the short amount of time, there’s been an extraordinary outpouring of support for this mother who leaves behind four young children and a husband.” [WWBT]

Doctors had previously revived her before discovering the brain aneurysm that would later be fatal. The unborn baby who was going to be named Cecilia Rachel also died.

Harkins has four surviving children, one of whom lives with Down Syndrome.

She was a dedicated member of her church where she initiated a women’s Bible study just prior to her death.

Harkins home-schooled her children and established an at-home business of designing and selling handcrafted clay rosaries and jewelry. Her children and husband Eric are now left grieving and trying to come to terms with the untimely and unexpected deaths of Harkins and the baby.

A Gofundme page has been set up to help the family during this difficult time. Over the course of two days, family members, friends and total strangers from all over the world donated to raise over $110,000 for Harkins’ kids and husband.

A YouCaring fundraiser was also established which has, thus far, brought in over $45,000 in donations.
