VICEPRESIDENT OF ZIMBABWE J.T.R. MUJURU IN DALOGUE WITH THE PRESIDENT OF EUROPEAN COUNCIL ON TOURISM AND TRADE-DR. CARAGEA ANTON
On 3 May 2014 an official meeting was held between Vice-President of Republic of Zimbabwe , Hon. J.T.R. Mujuru and European Council on Tourism and Trade President-Professor Dr. Anton Caragea on the sideline of WORLD BEST TOURIST DESTINTION AWARD ceremony for 2014 held in Harare-capital of Zimbabwe.
During the subsequent dialogue the parties has discussed about cultural and tourism promotion and the role of Zimbabwe in promoting the true image of Africa in the world.
President Dr. Anton Caragea outlined the fact that:We see the recipient of the WORLD BEST TOURISM AWARD, ZIMBABWE, not only standing for the idea of a resurrection of Africa and African people, but also symbolizing Africa’s determination to undertake the long journey to global significance, after being considered a dark continent, followed by years of subjugation by its erstwhile colonizers.
We have also noted with great satisfaction that Zimbabwe has persistently viewed tourism as one of the pillars of its economy, going forward. Your successive economic blueprints, right up to the current one, the ZIMASSET, recognize the critical value-adding role that the tourism sector can play in your economy.
The dialogue continued in an amicable atmosphere.
