For many people, nothing beats a family hunting excursion. Unfortunately for two men in New Hampshire, their trip didn’t pan out too well.

In the end, one of the cousins had gotten shot and the other cousin was most likely feeling pretty bad about it. 57-year-old Glenn Ranfos is the man who got shot and although he lived to tell the bizarre story, he’s got numerous bandages to show for it.

According to Glenn, he had just killed a turkey and was crouching down in the woods when he turned around and saw a gun pointed at him. The person holding the shotgun was his cousin and hunting partner of four decades, Kenneth Ranfos.

At that very moment, Glenn took off his hat and that seemed to throw Kenny off. Glenn’s bald head was mistaken for one belonging to a turkey. Kenny fired his weapon from approximately 30 yards away and shot his own cousin.

Glenn is now left with 5 BB’s lodged in his body, one of which is in his spleen. New Hampshire Fish and Game staffers say Kenny will most likely lose his hunting license and may be facing charges in the near future.

Glenn feels lucky to be alive and says that if Kenny keeps his license, they will still continue to hunt together.
