A police investigation involving a now deceased alleged kidnapper is revealing some shocking findings. Grand jury transcripts regarding the suspect, Kelly Swoboda, showed evidence that he had kept what is called ‘surveillance notes’ on 17 girls, many of whom are local high school students.

Swoboda reportedly gave the females a rating and mentioned whether or not they were alone when he was watching them. He also noted their hair color and locations.

If the victims were driving, he jotted down their license plate numbers. On January 27th, Swoboda kidnapped a woman who worked at a tanning salon in Oregon.

He duct taped her wrists and ankles, beat her and placed her in the back of his van. Fortunately she was able to escape by jumping from the moving van although she did receive ‘multiple skull fractures’.

Approximately 6 weeks after that abduction, police received a report of a suspicious green van near a Portland High School, matching the description from the previous crime.

Police responded and a gunfight ensued. An officer eventually shot and killed Swoboda during the dangerous confrontation.
