Leonardo DiCaprio may be portraying Steve Jobs in an upcoming biopic. Nothing has yet been made official but rumors are swirling that Sony Pictures Entertainment is talking to Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle.

Boyle in turn is said to be speaking with DiCaprio for the starring role of Steve Jobs.

What makes the film such an exciting possibility is the fact that the Boyle, DiCaprio combination will most likely attract a massive audience. The duo worked together back in the year 2000 in the flick titled ‘The Beach’.

For the past few months, Sony Pictures has been searching for a director, as David Fincher backed out of the project. Prior to his decision to walk away from the film, he had wanted Christian Bale to portray Apple’s co-founder.

Despite the slight drama regarding the key players, Aaron Sorkin, who wrote the screenplay for the biopic, is thrilled about the project. He remarked ‘One of the things that really excites me about Steve Jobs is, it is one of the very few times I ended up writing what I set out to write when I began. It's an incredibly satisfying feeling.’

He went on to fondly describe Jobs as ‘a fascinating guy, surrounded by fascinating people, and he had very interesting relationships with the people in his life.’
