Honda's advanced ASIMO robot recently made an appearance at the International Auto Show in New York.

Long known for their ingenuity beyond motor vehicles and power equipment, Honda continues to work on perfecting their endearing little robot, ASIMO.

The advanced version of humanoid robot recently made an appearance at the New York International Auto Show. It showed off some updated and seriously impressive moves.

ASIMO is certainly very human-like. It effortlessly transitions from walking mode to running and surprisingly, the movements look pretty natural. It also climbs stairs, albeit not too quickly.

In a few more remarkable feats, ASIMO can hop on one foot, kick a soccer ball, serve drinks and even demonstrated English and Japanese sign language. Summing it up, the 110-pound robot is an engineering wonder.

ASIMO isn’t exactly a new invention. It was created roughly 14 years ago, but the most recent unveiling proves Honda is serious about ASIMO's future in the real world.

The senior chief engineer at Honda R&D Co. Ltd. Japan remarked ‘ASIMO was designed to help those in society who need assistance, and Honda believes that these improvements in ASIMO bring us another step closer to our ultimate goal of being able to help all kinds of people in need.’
