Said a flower shop owner, "Honestly, would anyone be OK drinking potty water? For my plants, that would be no problem…I don't think it could be any good for anybody" as far as drinking goes.
The process has been tested to be safe, and the city is quickly running out of other options.
Reservoirs haven’t recovered since the severe weather conditions of 2011. Each year since the punishing heat of that year, rainfall has been down significantly.
The lakes in the Wichita Falls area are estimated to be only 26 percent full.
City officials are on the verge of placing restrictions on use, including filling pools and washing cars.
