A man in Georgia is now nearly 80 thousand dollars richer because of his late wife. 51-year-old David Greeson of Chatsworth recently played the symbolic numbers 5-7-11-23-31 and on February 25th, he won the prize of exactly $77,921.

His winning numbers represent significant dates pertaining to his wife, Kathy, who passed away in December of last year from lymphoma cancer. The 5-7-11-23 represent Kathy’s birthday November 23rd, 1957. The 31 is a reference to the date the couple got married.

Greeson played those same numbers every single night for three months since his wife passed away.

Reflecting on the moment he realized he won, Greeson commented “I looked at my phone and saw the numbers…..And I actually pulled to the side of the road and checked again, and the first thing I did was look up and say, 'Kathy, our numbers hit.' I actually started crying a bit. It was a very special moment.”

Greeson plans to use the money for traveling to some of his wife’s favorite vacation spots. While that may bring him some form of happiness, Greeson claims the best part was just winning the lottery with those specific numbers. Many people don’t believe it was just a coincidence.
