Pope Francis Drops the Italian Equivalent of 'F Bomb'

Pope Francis recently mixed up closely sounding Italian words during a Sunday blessing.

There’s always a risk when it comes to speaking in public. And that applies even to the best of us - take Pope Francis for instance.

The pontiff recently mixed up closely sounding Italian words during a Sunday blessing. The spoken error was captured on camera. Footage of it has since gone viral.

Specifically, what Pope Francis intended to say was the word ‘caso’ which translates to case.

However, he said ‘cazzo’ in place of it.

"in questo caso la Provvidenza di Dio si rende visibile in questo gesto di solidarietà." [The Vatican]

Although the two words sound alike, their meanings couldn’t be any more different. ‘Cazzo’ translates to the English equivalent of the F Bomb.

Despite the mix-up, many people comically brushed it off and realized that type of thing could happen to anyone.
