Parents in Sacramento, California are filing a claim against their daughter’s teacher after the girl was ejected from the classroom and found wandering the streets hours later.
Parents in Sacramento, California are filing a claim against the Natomas Unified School District after their daughter was ejected from her classroom and found wandering the streets hours later.
“When I finally got the call from the school it was 11:30. So, when I get to school and I say when was the last time you saw my child and they say 9:30."
The incident is said to have started when the 7-year-old spilled some water in class and then began to cry.
That’s apparently when the teacher became frustrated and dragged the little girl out of the classroom, chair and all.
Once in the hall, nobody checked on the girl and didn’t even notice she’d gone missing until about an hour after the fact.
When the child was located, it was on a street in her neighborhood.
That means she walked over two miles and across several interstate feeder ramps.
“They’ve lost our child for two hours. At that moment you’re thinking, ‘Am I going to ever see my kid again?’”
The teacher being accused has allegedly been identified by the school’s administration as a known problem, and the parents said they were told a case against her is in the works.
In a public statement, school officials said they were unable to comment on the matter.
