Son Learns to Drive, Father Ends Up With Broken Bones
When a 64-year-old dad took his adult kid out on the San Diego streets for a road lesson he ended up with several broken bones.
For one man, teaching his son how to drive didn’t turn out to be the fond-memory making experience it often is for many parents.
When the 64-year-old dad took his 40 year old son out on the San Diego streets for a road lesson he ended up with several broken bones.
The incident occurred at about 9:30 at night.
To be helpful, the father had gotten out of the car to direct his son into a driveway.
It seems the skill level of the student wasn’t quite up to where the dad thought it was.
When attempting to follow the path being pointed out by the teacher, the driver veered to the right.
Quick breaking apparently hadn’t been thoroughly covered either, as the son was unable to keep the auto from striking and pinning his father to a wrought iron fence.
The injured man ended up being hospitalized.
Among his injuries are a broken pelvis, knee and tibia. He also has an open fracture on his foot.
It’s unclear if someone else in the family will be taking over the lessons while he recovers.
