A man in Louisville was offered a $20,000 scholarship during a chance encounter.

It is never too late for a fresh start. A man in Louisville, Kentucky learned that on Martin Luther King Day after being offered a $20,000 scholarship during a chance encounter.

29-year-old Montez Jones worked on the holiday, as a human billboard, holding up a sign for local company, Colbert Ball Tax Service. Jones was shuffling around on his feet dancing, in an effort to both attract the attention of drivers and to fight off the cold temperatures.

It was his moves that attracted the attention of a passing motorist, Rev. Kevin Cosby of Simmons College of Kentucky. It was either a softhearted moment or sheer curiosity, but Cosby, who is also the president of the university, decided to pull up next to Jones and ask some questions.

The first was if Jones knew who he was, the response was no. The next was if he would except a once in a lifetime opportunity; a $20,000 free scholarship to the bible college and a shot at a whole new life.

Jones, who once aspired to become a doctor, trekked down the wrong path through adolescence, causing him to get arrested. Now he’s starting over, thanks to Cosby’s perfect exhibit of having faith.
