What would you do if you could redesign your car and add whatever comes to mind?

As a way to get feedback and grant wishes, Volkswagen in Japan recently organized a project called “Whatever you wish to do with the Beetle, do it.” The end result of that event was a bathtub installed in the back of a Beetle.

The Volkswagen Group Japan traveled to various locations throughout the country and asked Beetle owners and fans to write down what they wished they could do with the tiny car. The wishes were written on small, Beetle shaped cards and one lucky man was deemed a winner out of approximately 6,500 entries after noting that he wanted to “drive with an open-air bath in the rear seat of a convertible Beetle.”

That dream came to life. Using The Beetle Cabriolet, which is the convertible version, a Japanese bathtub, derived of cypress wood was installed in the back seat. Typical bathhouse curtains were installed near the rear bumper, offering a level of privacy for the person bathing.

Would you want a bathtub in your car?
