A worker at the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky was shocked by lightning while on the job.

It was approximately 1 in the afternoon and he was working at the zip line attraction, a recent crowd-drawing addition to the creationist institution.

There had been several reports of quickly approaching and pop-up storms and the man was trying to clear the customers from harm’s way.

He was on the ground near one of the lines when he touched an energized object and felt the impact of a strike.

Due to the high volume of calls – it was a very active day for lightning hitting things in the area – emergency crews weren’t able to make it to the scene for about half an hour.

The staffer was reported to be in stable condition upon their arrival. He said he was experiencing a tingling sensation in his hands but was conscious.

As a precaution he was taken to an area hospital for further examination.

The park was closed following the incident and remained so while the storms passed through.
