A man in Stafford County, Virginia scammed Wal-Mart twice in one day. According to police, 49-year-old Randolph Byrd entered a local Wal-Mart on a recent afternoon.

He allegedly picked up a 20 gallon aquarium from the store. Byrd didn’t pay for it, but he went to the customer service desk and asked for a refund without a receipt.

Although workers didn’t give him money due to the lack of a receipt, the store allows customers to get a gift card for the product’s monetary value if they have proper identification. Several hours later, Byrd went back to the same Wal-Mart and tried the scheme again.

He brought a coffeemaker to the service desk and asked for a refund.

The refund was put on the same gift card which he received earlier.

A little while later, employees realized Byrd had been at the desk twice and the gift card was electronically deactivated.

Boyd returned for the third time to the store, demanding to know why his card wasn’t working. A cop was waiting for him. Byrd was charged with obtaining money under false pretenses.
