Do aliens know about us?

According to two mathematicians from the University of Edinburgh, if there are smart aliens out there, chances are they’ve already observed us. They could, in fact, be doing it right now without us knowing about it.

They say that it’s possible that intel-gathering probes are zipping through space, jumping from star to star. The crafts are likely self-repairing and self-generating as well as adept at covering their tracks.

Refueling isn’t likely an issue for them as they could easily use the gravitational pull of stars to create a slingshot-effect, propelling them along their journey - much in the same way Voyager utilizes planets.

How they would share all of the data they collect is a bit tricky. Then again, if the aliens could get space vehicles that build and repair themselves, they were probably able to do some quantum magic that allows them to share and log info.

Information gathering in multiple galaxies could happen relatively quickly, too.

If the probes were traveling at just 1 tenth the speed of light, it would only take them 10 million years to explore the entire Milky Way galaxy.
