Woman's Missing Dog Located After 8 Years
A teacher in Illinois, Sheryl Jans was recently informed that her missing dog had been found in Hawaii. The pooch, named Koki disappeared 8 years ago.

Sheryl Jans from Illinois was recently informed that her missing dog had been found in Hawaii. The pooch, named Koki disappeared 8 years ago.
A company called Avid Microchip had called Jans' best friend, informing her that Koki was at Kona Humane Shelter on the Big Island. Jans notes, “I was hysterical. I started crying and freaking out. I called the shelter and spoke to a worker at the shelter. She told me that Koki was brought in by a good Samaritan who found her running around the Kona Airport.”
Jans believed her ex-partner was responsible for taking Koki to Hawaii after their break up.
Upon receiving the good news, she has been working to bring Koki back home to Illinois. Due to airline regulations on snub-nosed dogs, Koki can’t fly in the cargo hold.
One airline will allow Koki on a flight if Jans is physically with her, so she has established a fundraiser to raise a little over $5,000 to hopefully make that a possibility.
