A man faces prison time for opening an umbrella on a plane.

When you’re getting rained on it's no big deal to protect yourself with an umbrella - right?

Well, one male passenger on a Cathay Pacific flight decided to whip out his umbrella to keep dry from dripping condensation in flight. Apparently it is a big deal in Hong Kong, as the Civil Aviation Department claims that anyone who opens an umbrella during a flight is in violation of regulations.

Open umbrellas are said to have an effect on the orderly operation of a plane. Police are investigating the incident to see if the man broke any other rules.

If charges are brought forward, the male could be sentenced to six months in jail and may have to pay a $1,300 fine.

It’s very important to be on your best behavior while on a plane. Recently a woman reportedly belted out several not-so-fabulous renditions of Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" before being removed from an American Airlines flight due to interference.

In fact, her musical styling was so disruptive that the Los Angeles to New York flight had to make an emergency landing in Kansas City so she could be taken off.
