How People React When Asked for Help By Drunk Drivers

The website, Confused.com created a social experiment in the UK which had an actor pretending to be drunk ask 50 different people on the street to help him get into his car.

The results of the experiment were quite interesting.

Eight of the people that were involved in the experiment didn’t help him. Only one person called the police and took the man’s keys.

Over two thirds of people helped the seemingly intoxicated man get into his car so he could drive away. The video was released online with the message that people should be active in prevent drunk driving during the holiday season.

About 4 million people in the United States admitted that they drove at least once while they were drunk in the year 2010, making up about 112 million reported drunk driving cases.

Men were responsible for 81 percent of those drunk driving incidents.
There were over 1.4 million driving under the influence, or DUI arrests made in the United States during 2010.
