In a recent report, a dog in Kazakhstan died while saving his owner’s life. The pooch’s 48-year-old owner had been contemplating suicide and consumed a bottle of hard alcohol before passing out on some railroad tracks. A law enforcement official states “Upon seeing the train, the dog started pulling its owner away… When train drivers saw the dog on the rail tracks, they used the emergency brake.”

However, it was a little too late. The dog managed to save its master, but died when its back paws were run over.

Earlier this year, another hero dog saved her owner’s life. The 8-year-old pit bull named Lilly pulled her master, Christine Spain off of railroad tracks only instants before a train passed by.

Lilly was struck by the train and her front leg had to be amputated, but she survived.

Spain was unconscious during the ordeal, but Lilly remained by her owner’s side even as emergency workers arrived on the scene.
