PRODUCED BY JOHN HOUGH & JOANNE COLLINS
Singing Stream (Niall Vallely) - Tartar Frigate (Matt Seatle)
Torcán is a newly established instrumental trad band made up of Jason
Turk, Alex Millar and Robin Turk. They play an eclectic mix of Irish
Traditional music infused with hints of other musical styles like
Jazz, Cajun, Scandinavian, Classical, Dance and Rock.
In their short time together they've performed a great many shows.
From regular live sessions in the pubs of their hometown of Cork, to
gracing the stage at IMRO's 2011 TradFest Showcase, to a performance
in front of thousands at Turkey's historic Karagoz Folk Dance
Festival, Torcán have already begun making their mark on the Folk
music scene.
In the autumn in 2012, the band will put themselves to tape for the
first time with the recording of their first EP, which will be made of
a number of the band's own compostions, and some Traditional pieces
given Torcán's own unique twist. Look out for it in 2012!
