Born in Blarney Co. Cork to a family steeped in music, Josie began playing piano and button accordion at an early age. As a teenager the self taught guitarist made her initial steps into songwriting, penning compositions in a diverse number of genres including jazz/blues/rock and folk.Following graduation with a BA from UCC she competed a music management and sound engineering course in Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa Cork, before achieving an MA at the University of Limerick.Josie has been heavily involved in the Irish music scene for years, appearing on several TV and radio programs including TG4's Geantraí, Féilte and RTE's You're a Star. Josie guested on different albums as both musician and singer including Patricia Clark's CD -The Lark's March; she has also performed at numerous festivals predominantly in Ireland , UK, France , Norway and the USA, and has supported bands such as -The Hothouse Flowers, Mundy, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Guidewires and Flook.Josie is currently working on her solo album which will be released in 2012
