Suburbia11 is a Ska-Reggae band from Sibiu, Romania, which saw the daylight in January 2016.
The boys combine guitar, bass, trumpet, trombone, melodica, drums and vocals into an energy shot of Ska, Reggea, Punk and Rap. Due to their catchy balkan sound they easily took the stage at some of last summer’s festivals, in the band’s first year of existence : Focus Festival, Holzstock Festival, Interferences Theatre Festival and many concert’s around the country. This summer the band was invited to play at Sziget Festival, Street Food Festival, Holzstock Festival, Szfera Festival and many other solo gig’s.
Their sound is influenced by bands like Manu Chao, Dubioza Kolektive, The Cat Empire. While playing in English, Romanian and Spanish, they have developed their own unique style full of energy trough songs like : Ziua Inconstientei, Extrana, Babylon and more, with various influences from the balkan folk.
The guys from the Suburb’s are : Marius Dan (voice), Medve Sandor (trumpet, trombone, melodic), Dragos Patrau (guitar, backing vocal), Bogdan Muntean (bass, backing vocal) and Alec Ciobotaru (drums).
