PRESENTED BY TOM MILLETT
Tadhg and Oisín Walsh-Peelo are brothers from Ashford, Co. Wicklow. They have been writing, recording and playing music under the name 'Mo Hat Mo Gheansaí' for the last few months however their love for performing began years ago. Both classically trained since the tender age of 5 they play piano, violin, harp, guitar, drums [and whatever else they can lay their hands on!]. Both Tadhg (21) and Oisín (17) have won scholarships to study at the Royal Irish Academy where Oisín is currently studying harp. As the name suggests Tadhg and Oisín have a keen interest in the Irish language, attending the gael scoil Coláiste Ráithín in Bray Co. Wicklow. Tadhg subsequently was awarded a Bord na Gaeilge Irish language scholarship in his first year in UCD allowing him to live on campus with other Irish speakers. They both write songs in Irish as well as translating and arranging their favourite pop songs to perform Mo Hat Mo Gheansaí style! Recently Mo Hat Mo Gheansaí won 'Cath na mBannaí' on Raidió Rí-Rá, a competition for best original song 'as gaeilge' as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge '10. They also played live on The Mooney Show on RTE Radio 1 as well as on East Coast FM during the weeks celebrations. They Have shared stages with Kíla, Liam Ó Maonlaí and Aslan. Recently their song 'Ní Tú Mo Ghrá' was used on TV3's National Event Guide to promote the Wicklow Sailfest at which they performed alongside the Heathers and the American Drifters. Tadhg and Oisín continue to write and record songs, make music videos and to work on their unique sound, keep a look out!
