Thanksgiving Dinner Tips - Managing Alcohol Intake by Guests - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. It can be a challenge when serving a lovely meal for the thanksgiving event, about alcohol. And you have to keep in mind some people do not drink any alcohol and others may have several glasses of wine or an alcoholic beverage. So of course to the person who does not drink any alcohol, it looks like this person is drinking far to much. So we only are in charge of controlling our own alcohol consumption. If it is a home event and people are staying at your home, they will not have to be driving after words. So you do not need a designated driver. However, if they are staying at a hotel, we have to be very clear on who the designated driver is so that no alcohol is consumed by that person, making the entire family safe. Now as the host, you are responsible and in control of how much alcohol is consumed. So I usually do not put the bottles of wine on the table. I put them in a decanter, so I would actually decant the wine. So no bottles go to the table. When you are having pre dinner drinks, you do not bring that drink to the table, you finish that or just set it aside. Because at the table will be the proper wine glasses based on the meal that your having, weather a white or a dark wine and also that would combine with the food choices. So your going to have decanters, your in charge of how many times the decanters are filled in the kitchen and brought out. And if someone say I like more wine, you could just nicely say. Well you have enjoyed it so much, we have actually consumed all of our wine for this evening, I am so glad that you enjoyed it.
