So, we will start with the leg straight out in front of the body, feet together. And then reach down and grab the right ankle, and bending the knee, lift the leg up and gently rock it from side to side to loosen up the hip. From there, flex the foot as firmly as you can, and then bring the edge of the foot into the crease of the opposite elbow, wrapping the other arm around the knee, and then rocking back and forth and straightening the spine at the same time. Remain there for 5 to 10 breaths, and then go to the other side. To release, gracefully release the leg. So this posture helps to stretch the hips and prepare the legs to move into lotus pose.
