The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) has launched its 56th National MATTA Fair, highlighting initiatives to boost domestic and international travel, sports tourism, and sustainability.

MATTA President Nigel Wong emphasised their commitment as a strategic partner for Visit Malaysia 2026, focusing on developing Malaysia's tourism ecosystem.

00:00Ladies and gentlemen, Mata has been a steadfast pillar of Malaysia's tourism industry,
00:13working to strengthen the ecosystem both locally and internationally.
00:18Our collaborations, especially with the state government of Kedah,
00:22and as a strategic partner to visit Malaysia 2026,
00:26underline our commitment to driving both inbound and outbound growth.
00:31Our goal as an association goes beyond simply increasing visitor count.
00:37We are firm believers that tourism serves as a fundamental pillar
00:41for Malaysia's economic growth and the empowerment of local communities.
00:47At Mata, we focus on exploring niche markets such as sports and ecotourism.
00:53We aim not only to strengthen outbound opportunities for Malaysians to experience the world,
00:59but also, and just as importantly, to enhance inbound offerings,
01:03setting the stage for Malaysia's diverse attractions to global travellers.
01:08Now, tapping into these markets, Mata is proud to announce its first ever
01:13Mata Malaysia Pickleball Grand Slam, scheduled to take place in October 2025.
01:20Additionally, through the lens of ecotourism, we are introducing the rebranded Sustainable Initiative,
01:27the Mata Eco Sustainable Tourism Initiative, also known as MSTi.
01:33And as an association, we must lead by example and encourage our members to adopt sustainable practices.
