00:00The Pittsburgh Steelers have been Aaron Rodgers or Bust at the quarterback position for weeks now.
00:06Yet following some major news out of the NFC South, there's a chance that they have some new competition for the services of the future Hall of Famer.
00:17Hey everyone, Rob Greggs of A to Z Sports Pittsburgh, and today we're going to talk about the possibility of Aaron Rodgers joining the New Orleans Saints.
00:26That's right. On Friday, the bombshell report came out that Saints starting quarterback Derek Carr has a shoulder injury that has his 2025 season in serious jeopardy.
00:37And look, in my opinion, the New Orleans Saints, they make no sense for Aaron Rodgers.
00:42This is a guy who wanted to stay with the New York Jets. They said no.
00:46Who wanted to get to a situation closer to home in California. They said no.
00:50Who said, okay, I'll fulfill the Brett Favre destiny and go play for the Minnesota Vikings.
00:56As of right now, they have said no.
00:59That has led him to the Pittsburgh Steelers and what many believe to be not a matter of if, but when he joins Pittsburgh as their starting quarterback.
01:09Yet, here we are, and it still hasn't happened.
01:11Here we are, and Aaron Rodgers is holding out hope for a new situation, for maybe an injury, for potentially retiring.
01:21All of those options are now on the table with the Derek Carr injury, but it makes 0% sense to think of Aaron Rodgers in a New Orleans Saints uniform.
01:31I mean, this is a team that just has a brand new head coach, that has not been successful, that in his last couple years would give him virtually no shot of winning a Super Bowl.
01:44So, if you're the Pittsburgh Steelers, you're probably not that worried right now.
01:47But then again, you have to think in the back of your mind, well, what's the holdup?
01:51We had a great meeting together.
01:53He threw with DK Metcalf.
01:55We've been around at league meetings, at NFL Combine, at all these different places, and everybody says Aaron Rodgers will be a Pittsburgh Steeler, yet he's still not a Steeler.
02:06So, the New Orleans Saints, while they don't pose an immediate or legitimate threat, they are certainly a city and a team to watch.
02:15Because with Aaron Rodgers, you never know, and the Pittsburgh Steelers might have some serious competition now.
