00:00Veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers continues to prove exactly why no team in the NFL should even
00:06come close to signing him. It's why he's still unsigned and why he will remain unsigned
00:12throughout this offseason and I think his NFL career is over. For A to Z Sports to break it
00:18down, I'm Sam Phelan. Former New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is throwing a lot
00:27of shade at his former team. He's in the headlines in the news once again talking about his untimely
00:34departure from the Jets and implicating maybe some unethical stuff by head coach Aaron Glenn.
00:42Rodgers clearly unhappy and he is slamming the Jets on ESPN on the Pat McAfee show. He makes
00:49another appearance talking about his meeting that he had with the New York Jets new brass at the end
00:54of the season in which he said things like, they made me fly across the country on my own dime.
01:00Okay, and sure, maybe the Jets should have flown Aaron Rodgers in if they had a meeting scheduled
01:06with him. But at the same time, you've made over $380 million in your NFL career. You stole money
01:14from the Jets in 2023, making over $40 million to not play football. You have no sympathy from me or
01:20really anybody in this situation. And maybe Rodgers is right. Maybe Aaron Glenn did all of the things
01:27that Rodgers implicated him to do. He said he sits down with the new head coach who presses him. Do you
01:33really want to play football next year in 2025? And when Rodgers said he was interested, Glenn quickly
01:38made a move to say, we're going in another direction at quarterback. Rodgers felt unhappy that Glenn never
01:45got to know him, never got the chance to talk to him. Apparently, Glenn said to Rodgers, I don't
01:50want to be standing up in front of a bunch of men in a team meeting and have them all looking back at
01:55you, insinuating that the veteran QB would be undermining the head coach, that the players would
02:00be respecting Rodgers instead of Glenn, that he was a bad culture fit. Again, maybe Glenn did say all of
02:07these things. And maybe most of them are unfair to Rodgers. But I think the fact that this information
02:14is being made public, the fact that he is making a scene about throwing Aaron Glenn under the bus,
02:20this is why Glenn has those concerns. And this is why if you're any NFL team right now, even a team
02:26in need of a quarterback, you don't want to touch Aaron Rodgers. I mean, he went five and 12 last year.
02:33It's not like he's coming off an AFC championship game appearance and has a lot of wins on his resume
02:39recently to hang his hat on. He didn't have success in New York. Can you blame them for going in another
02:44direction? And what team wants to sign up for 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers, pay him a lot of money
02:51just to risk him going on ESPN and Pat McAfee show again and trying to parade your entire organization?
02:58If I'm the Pittsburgh Steelers, I'm not going anywhere near Aaron Rodgers at this point. I much
03:05like my chances of drafting Jackson Dart in the first round of the 2025 draft than I do paying
03:11Rodgers. I'm glad if I'm the New York Jets to have Justin Fields on my roster. If I'm the New York
03:17Giants, I am thanking my lucky stars that I got Russell Wilson instead of somebody who is a clear
03:22PR problem. So in my opinion, Rodgers' career is going to be done. I don't see how the juice is
03:30worth the squeeze for a team to submit themselves to this type of media presence when the on-field
03:38product hasn't been anything to write home about. Don't touch him. Aaron Glenn, in my eyes,
03:45this is a positive checkmark for his tenure as New York Jets head coach. The Jets have been broken
03:52for a while. It's good that they have somebody like Glenn who's willing to lay the law down,
03:57stick it to the man, and let Aaron Rodgers know that no one player is bigger than this football
04:03team. I think it will help them a lot in the future, and Glenn might be the right man to lead
04:08them back to the NFL playoffs. For A to Z Sports, I'm Sam Phelan.
