00:00The Miami Dolphins are an absolute mess, and after the latest news regarding cornerback Jalen Ramsey,
00:07Miami might be in the worst position of any team in the NFL.
00:11For A to Z Sports, to break it all down, I'm Sam Phelan.
00:17According to multiple reports, the Miami Dolphins and Jalen Ramsey are mutually agreeing to explore
00:23a trade for the seven-time Pro Bowler, and according to Ian Rappaport, he wouldn't be
00:29surprised if Ramsey played elsewhere in 2025, and I have to be honest, I don't understand
00:36the Miami Dolphins.
00:37I don't understand their roster building, their decision-making, and free agency.
00:42Year over year, it seems the Dolphins make puzzling decisions, and if you look at the current state
00:47of their roster, I'm not sure where they go from here.
00:50The Dolphins have sort of made it a habit to allow some of their homegrown talent to walk
00:55away.
00:56Robert Hunt went to Carolina.
00:57Christian Wilkins went to the Raiders.
01:00Andrew Van Ginkles in Minnesota.
01:02Javon Holland recently signed with the Giants.
01:04Oh, and Brandon Jones in Denver.
01:07Some of these homegrown draft picks that the Dolphins have hit on go elsewhere.
01:11Meanwhile, they've been giving contract raises and contract extensions to players like Tyree
01:17Kill and Jalen Ramsey, who clearly are not super happy being in Miami.
01:22Ramsey now may be being traded.
01:25Tyree Kill has been expressing all kinds of frustrations.
01:29Now, Ramsey looks to be on his way out, and to be honest, Tyree Kill might not be that far
01:34behind him.
01:35He's been popping off on social media all offseason, indicating that he would like to be elsewhere
01:41too.
01:41I just don't get what Chris Greer is doing here.
01:45I mean, you gave Tua $212 million and locked him up to be your quarterback.
01:51You still have some pieces on offense with Jalen Waddell and Tyree Kill.
01:56You signed Nick Westbrook-Akina.
01:57You have Johnnie Smith.
01:59The Dolphins paid James Daniels to help bolster the interior of their offensive line.
02:03So they've made moves that you would think are leading them to be in a competitive window.
02:09There are still some intriguing pieces on this defense too.
02:12I mean, Zach Seeler, Bradley Chubb, Jordan Brooks.
02:15If you were to able to keep Jalen Ramsey, there's a great player for your defense as well.
02:21But with all of this sort of deteriorating and unraveling in Greer's hands, it sort of
02:25feels like the Dolphins are now in no man's land.
02:28I don't understand them.
02:29You can't necessarily rebuild when you have all of the pieces to compete that they have,
02:35when you have a $212 million quarterback, when you have a solid defense, but you're
02:41also not improving.
02:42You're not taking the next step necessary to go to the playoffs and win playoff games.
02:48There's a reason Miami has not won a playoff game in 25 years, and this fan base deserves
02:54better.
02:55This fan base is starving for a playoff win, but it seems the Dolphins are sort of just
03:00okay floating in the middle.
03:03Look, if you're going to trade Jalen Ramsey, you might as well tear the whole thing down.
03:07You might as well start it over, but that's hard to do.
03:11I mean, trading Tyree Kill is easy enough.
03:13I'm sure you could trade Bradley Chubb, but what do you do with Tua?
03:18$212 million, a quarterback in place who probably doesn't want to sit through a rebuild.
03:23It's ugly in Miami.
03:26I don't understand where they're going.
03:28The Jalen Ramsey news caught a lot of people by surprise, and I'm not sure any of the other
03:3331 teams in the league right now would trade places.
03:36I'd much rather be the Tennessee Titans, picking at number one overall with a new general manager
03:42and a clear direction, hopefully, under Cam Ward.
03:45You certainly would rather be any of the teams that went to the playoffs in 2024.
03:49But Miami, not looking good for the Finns in 2025 and beyond.
