00:00Has this YouTuber lost his mind?
00:02Zach Scott has some fans concerned after embarking on an elephant daisy art commissioning spree
00:06that's taken over Twitter feeds across the world.
00:09It all began when Super Mario Wonder dropped,
00:11introducing a bizarre new power-up that immediately broke brains online.
00:15In the game, players can eat an elephant fruit to turn their character into an anthropomorphic elephant.
00:20This power-up immediately got people hyped on social media,
00:23inspiring a flood of fan art depicting Mario and the gang in their elephant forms.
00:30Gaming YouTuber Zach Scott, who has over 5 million subscribers,
00:34was one of many Mario Bros fans who became obsessed with the elephant fruit.
00:38In particular, he grew attached to Princess Daisy as an elephant.
00:41A few weeks later, he started flooding Twitter with commissions of elephant daisy,
00:45planting the seeds of what would become a full-blown obsession.
00:48His method involves finding an artist who's already drawn daisy,
00:51then paying them to redraw the same art but with elephant daisy instead,
00:55often sharing the new art with the caption,
00:57I loved the original but she wasn't an elephant,
01:00so I commissioned the same artist to turn her into an elephant.
01:03Zach Scott slowly continued this trend over the next few months,
01:05but recently he took it to the next level by going on a commissioning spree.
01:09He asked for an elephant daisy version of a rendering that was quickly fulfilled.
01:13Not long after, he shared a new commission from Moxie Draws showing elephant daisy on a jet ski.
01:17Because why not?
01:18In what can only be described as a digital art stampede,
01:22Zach Scott shared roughly 30 elephant daisy commissions on Twitter,
01:25proudly advertising just how much he loves this character and sharing that love with the world.
01:29While some people have showed concern for Zach Scott and wondered why exactly he was going so hard with elephant daisy art,
01:35others showered him with praise.
01:37A lot of people are happy that he's commissioning the original artist to draw the elephant daisy art,
01:41rather than using AI to transform daisy into the elephant,
01:43a trend that's grown increasingly popular in the art world as of late.
01:46The art commissions have also inspired a lot of memes about Zach Scott himself.
01:50Many of these memes ironically depict Zach Scott as some sort of villain who immediately DMs any artist he sees with Princess Daisy artwork.
01:57One viral example by Bonksta is a piece of art that shows Luigi as a waiter serving an elephant fruit to a nervous Princess Daisy
02:03as Zach Scott sits at a table in the background.
02:06Zach Scott hasn't exactly explained why he's doing this, but one thing's for sure, he's playing into the meme.
02:11In between sharing art commissions, he's also been sharing memes poking fun at himself,
02:15like a post sharing a crying Dumbo gif that reads,
02:18Me when I find an amazing daisy artist and their commissions are closed.
