Around 150 families receive notices declaring their land as Waqf property in TN’s Vellore

Vellore (TN), April 15, 2025 (ANI): Around 150 families allegedly received notices declaring their land as Waqf property at Kattukollai village in Tamil Nadu’s Vellore on April 15. They demanded the villagers to start paying tax.  “The Waqf Bill has passed recently, and suddenly, they have started asking for tax for land. In Vellore, many villagers are facing similar issues,” said Mahesh, Hindu Munnani functionary. “Our Land is registered, we have paid water tax, but now we have received a notice saying that land is a Waqf Property. 200 families have received this notice,” said Villager.
