Hyderabad (Telangana), April 16, 2025(ANI): On representing India in the Miss World 2025 pageant, Femina Miss India World 2023, Nandini Gupta said, "I am training rigorously to shine on the world stage. Every day, I am learning a lot about Telangana, Hyderabad, and what the city has to offer... Miss World is happening in India for the second consecutive time, and it is a moment of pride... I am looking forward to how the economy of the state will boost, tourism will increase, and how the culture of the state will be promoted..."The young beauty queen from Rajasthan's Kota is working hard ahead of the big event, which will be held in Telangana from May 7 to May 31.

00:45It's the first time in Telangana.
00:47What do you have to say about it?
00:51So when I first got to know that it's happening in Telangana,
00:55the first thing that came to my mind is that, you know, India as a country wasn't open to hosting pageants.
01:04Or even a girl participating in a pageant was, I think, not many people were okay or welcome about it.
01:12But when I heard the news that, oh, Telangana is hosting it,
01:16and Telangana is promoting and evolving the ideology of India hosting the pageants,
01:21that's commendable.
01:22We are attracting the eyeballs from all over the world to Telangana.
01:26Telangana is itself making its place on the world map.
01:29And I'm really looking forward to how the economy will boost,
01:33how the tourism will take place,
01:35and how each and every individual will take home the arti craft, the hand loom,
01:40and the love of each and every weaver from different parts of the country with them.
01:44And, of course, I love the Garhwal saris,
01:47and I'm really looking forward for all the contestants to wear them
01:50and visit different locations in Telangana.
01:54The beauty of the purpose is the social activity.
01:58And what do you have to say about it?
02:01Well, my project, Take the Beauty with the Purpose project,
02:06actually, I think it's an inspiration from my uncle,
02:11who is differently labeled, my cha-cha.
02:13He suffers from polio, has developmental delays, and intellectual disability.
02:18Growing up, I have seen him from, he was, what, 30 when I was born,
02:26and each day I've seen him struggle to face the struggles that the normal community,
02:34or I would say people would never try to normalize him.
02:37I saw him struggling every day to make his way in the community.
02:44The love was, I think, optional.
02:46He would never get the strength.
02:48He would always be told to sit on a different table
02:50because he would have the saliva coming out of his mouth.
02:54There were different names such as abnormal, disabled,
02:59pagal, psychopath.
03:00And when I saw that the world is not treating him the way we did, which was normal,
03:08I felt as if this is something that I need to bring a change in
03:12because there are so many people who don't know or don't have a family who support them in this.
03:18I mean, my cha-cha was fortunate to have the background and the family support,
03:22but not everyone gets it.
03:24So who's there for them?
03:26I mean, I don't want to help, but I want to empower them.
03:29I want to stand with them.
03:30I want to amplify their voices, and I want to honor them because they are different,
03:34they are unique, and they hold so much integrity and so much discipline
03:39and so much resilient in themselves.
03:42So I think that is project that Miss World has given me,
03:45that platform to not only represent India, but also to listen, to speak,
03:49and to amplify the voices of the people that go unheard.
03:53Well, how did your life change after beginning India, professionally and personally?
03:59Well, my life has changed 360.
04:01I have transformed as a person.
04:05I was a girl when I won.
04:06I'm 21 now, a woman with the responsibilities of India
04:11and waiting to shine at the global stage.
04:14I have evolved.
04:15My thought process has evolved.
04:17I was a complete fresher when I entered the industry,
04:20but I have worked in different parts of the country,
04:23and I'm truly grateful for that.
04:25So not only commercially, but also I have found my own purpose,
04:29which is Project TICTA,
04:30and I'm really looking forward to take it to the world stage
04:32and see how it will bring a change.
04:34What would you like to tell to the world as a constant for coming Miss World?
04:39Mm-hmm.
04:40What would you like to tell to the world as Miss India?
04:44Well, the only thing I will tell the world that what you're waiting
04:47and when you're coming here, it's truly an unforgettable experience.
04:52I'm sure that you will take a lot of memories back.
04:55Hyderabad, a city, is known for its diversity, its modernity,
04:59but also deep-rooted traditional values.
05:01And when you'll come here, I'm sure you will experience the warmth,
05:05the hospitality that will make you feel like home.
05:07You'll be here for 40 days or 30 days, but you will never miss your home.
05:12I'm here for two and three days, and I love it.
05:14I love how people treat you.
05:16I love the food.
05:18I love how the hustling and bustling of the bazaars,
05:21the pearls, and it's a city of love.
05:23All we girls need is love, and I'm sure that we will get the love
05:27of all the Hyderabadis, all the Telangana people in India.
05:32And the one thing's for sure, that you will come to Telangana
05:35with the motto of Telangana Zarurana,
