Transcript
00:00My favorite part of my game is definitely at the plate. I love to compete up there. I love to hit. I love to do damage.
00:05I always tell myself you can get better at everything. If we're doing, you know, bench, maybe give one more wrap.
00:19Just disrupt the game is just play my game. You know, I like to do damage at the plate.
00:23You know, Rob hits, Rob home runs. I love to compete in the box.
00:28You know, it's you versus the pitcher and you want to win every time.
00:32You know, being a leader is big for me.
00:35Yeah, I'm not really of a vocal leader, but my game, you know, speaks for myself.
00:39I'm always hustling, giving it 100% all the time.
00:42But I think the mental side of the game, people don't see that much.
00:45You know, like people would say, get that little guy off your shoulder.
00:47You know, he's in there talking to your ear, you know, just mentally resetting and, you know, staying positive.
00:52Simple is more for me and just being confident.
00:54You know, I work hard and I try to tell myself no one's going to outwork me and no one's going to be, you know, better than me.
00:59That's my mentality. Coming into a ball game, being on the field every day, every play, I want to be my best and be the best.
01:06Career highlights so far. It's got to be the top. It's got to be when I hit the cycle, hit for the cycle.
01:11I think that was, you know, pretty special to me.
01:15Most exciting play to me. Defensively, probably Rob in a home run.
01:19Offensively is hitting a walk-off.
01:21Every year I come in and people say you need to improve this. You need to improve that.
01:26People think when I say I want to be more consistent, you know, they're like, oh, how more consistent can you be?
01:31There's always things you can improve on. It doesn't matter if I'm playing defense, if I'm on offense.
01:35Whatever I'm doing that day in practice, I want to get better.
01:38If it's throwing the bases or, you know, drop steps or first steps, I practice hard and I want to be, like you said, I want to become the best.
01:47Yeah, Hiro is definitely, you know, my dad.
01:50You know, growing up, he's always, you know, he was always there for me.
01:54You know, I was about 11, 12, he kind of let me go, do my own thing.
01:58You know, it took a lot of pressure off me because he wanted to do so good for him.
02:01And, you know, obviously, you know, he played ball as well.
02:04And, you know, I looked up to him for sure.
02:08I think the biggest thing is staying hydrated.
02:10For me, I cramp up, you know, obviously a lot.
02:13Biggest thing people don't see is, you know, the night before is big as well.
02:16Waking up in the morning, you know, making sure you're hydrated.
02:19Favorite body armor, light flavor, peach mango.
