00:00How was my weekend?
00:05Well one, I still have Sunday to go, so my weekend's not entirely over.
00:09But um, man the weekend was just alright man, just alright.
00:15Ended the night with a 7th, which unfortunately is my Supercross best finish, but man I want
00:24more.
00:25But yeah, practice today, 2nd practice was probably my best and kind of got into a little
00:31groove and we had the Dartfish, I had a really good lap going but just missed up the last
00:36section.
00:37So all day kind of just alright, I gotta figure out my whoops, hey how are you?
00:44And uh, yeah I gotta figure out my whoops a little bit, and really just learning.
00:50But I kind of want it to just click you know, and I know what I'm capable of, I know I can
00:54run up there with those guys, it's just a matter of getting there, and the steps are
00:59smaller than I'd like right now, but so far just progressing through the whole year.
01:03So yeah, weekend was alright, started out in the main terrible start, but man really
01:11just made some good moves at the beginning and was racy.
01:15So that was cool, man I came up on Shane, like almost made a pass on him, and so yeah
01:21it just felt good, felt good, and then I think I got into it a little bit with McAdoo,
01:28passed him, and then he stuffed me pretty good, and then because he stuffed me he missed
01:35the rhythm, and then Hayes gets by, and we were just fighting, so lost some steam in
01:41the mid part of the race, but gained it back at the end.
01:46That's about how my weekend was, there you go Transworld MX.
01:50Yeah, it was a good night, definitely a really big positive step in the right direction,
01:54led every lap but the last of the heat race, and kind of let that slip away, so I was happy
02:00about it, but bummed at the same time that I let that go, and then got up front in the
02:05main event, and ran with those guys for 5 or 6 laps, and tightened up a little bit running
02:11that pace, and ended up 6th, so last weekend was my career best at 6th, and then I matched
02:18it this weekend, so hopefully getting that top 5 next weekend, and just keep building
02:22each weekend.
02:23It was a good day of racing, felt good in practice, faster every time, so it was good,
02:31and the track was technical, I really liked the layout, and the two-whoop section was
02:38gnarly, and I felt good all day in the whoops, and yeah, make a good pass, and have a good
02:46speed in the whoops, so it was really cool, and it was a good feeling, and yeah, win my
02:52first heat race of the season, so finally, and yeah, main event, a bad start, and losing
02:57a lot of time to pass, to get back to the front, and some losing energy or so, because
03:03yeah, it was tough, the track was really tough, and I passed my main rivals, like I say, clean,
03:12and so it was good, you know, when the guys are in front of you in championship, and you
03:17pass them, it's a cool feeling, so I was happy, and I tried to get back to Shin-Shirobu, but
03:23I was a little bit far, and I made a small mistake two laps before the end, and it cost
03:28me a few seconds, one, two seconds, and just before the last lap, Adam made a big mistake,
03:34and I was behind him, and I was just not enough close to try to pass him, so a little bit
03:42frustrating, but I mean, when I see the beginning of my main, where I was, it's cool to finish
03:50second, and to get some points for the championship.
03:53It wasn't too bad, practice was a little shaky, I think I qualified 7th, so that was sick,
03:59and pulled it together for the night program though, I got off to a good start in the heat
04:03race, solid right behind Dylan, and the main event was good, I just am a little bummed
04:10about it, I mean, you can't be bummed about being third, but it's just the idea of being
04:14that close to AC, and just not quite making it stick, I think I was trying to just be
04:18a little too patient, and I didn't realize Dylan was that close, he came in on me, we
04:22kind of bumped, and that cost us both a little bit of time to AC, and yeah, after that I
04:26just couldn't really get going again to kind of catch those guys, but overall, I'm happy,
04:31moving on to SD, and try to get us a win there.
04:34Yeah, it was good for me, last weekend I got 7th in the triple crown, and it was my best
04:38finish, but just not satisfied, moving into this week, I knew what I needed to work on
04:43during the week, and I felt like we worked on some things on the bike that I felt needed
04:48to be addressed, and we got it better, and then today, in qualifying, that last one,
04:54I battled for the board, I was 4th, 5th, back to 4th, and then overall qualified 5th, which
04:59is my best qualifying so far, I've been normally in the 7th, 8th range, so just bringing that
05:04aggression into the night show, had a good heat race, not anything crazy, just kind of
05:09quiet 3rd, and then came in the main event, I knew the track was going to be ruddy, which
05:15kind of suits me, I'm an east coast guy, it was a little bit tighter tonight, which I
05:18liked, the whoops, gosh, I mean I know everyone said it, but they were brutal, I rolled them
05:25in the sight lap, I'm like wow, we've got to do 15 plus 1 on these puppies, so here
05:29we go, and just, I'm not a jumper, so I knew if I could get 15 solid minutes through those
05:36things skimming, I knew I wasn't going to be the fastest, but if I could do it consistent
05:40every lap, I knew that would work out for me, and got a good start, and then RJ went
05:45down somewhere around the first lap, and I got hung up on his bike, but then I snuck
05:50around the top of the berm, and like 3 guys got me on the inside, and I wouldn't say that
05:55bombed me out, but it definitely hurt the confidence a little bit, I'm like dang it,
05:58I just had a good start, and let some guys sneak away from me, but put my head down and
06:03got Moseman, and then I saw McAdoo, and the mechanic was like P6, and I'm like no, that's
06:07not good enough, we've got to get that 5th, so, you know, grateful for this opportunity,
06:13it was my best finish, 5th, the Cycle Trader Rock River Yamaha team has given me an unbelievable
06:20opportunity, but 5th is great, it's my best finish, but I'm not satisfied, those front
06:26runners are still a good ways up there, and that's where I want to be, and that's what
06:30I've got to get to work.
06:32Yeah, do you, how do you feel like jumping in with all these guys this year, right, like
06:37do you feel like you're getting your position, your foothold, do you know what I mean?
06:41The first round in practice, I think I got bumped around more in practice than I had
06:46in my whole arena cross career, I don't know if it was the 3 digit number just magnifying
06:49everyone like dude, get out of the way, but yeah, I'm definitely establishing my position,
06:55you know, no I haven't been fighting for the podium, but I've been fighting for that
06:59top 5, you know, ever since, Glendale, you know, Anaheim, and then this weekend here
07:05in Oakland, got the 5th, so, yeah, I'm sticking the bike up there and having some fun with
07:09it.
07:10The weekend was solid, well actually the weekend was kind of shit in the beginning, I felt
07:15terrible in practice all day, and man I was slow, I was trying to go fast, I was like
07:204th, and notoriously for me, when I start the day bad, like all my wins for example,
07:27the day starts great, and it stays great all day, like I'm fast in practice, vibing with
07:30the track, this and that, like we made some changes on the bike, I felt terrible all day
07:35long pretty much until the night show, which I felt pretty good, I got a bad start in heat,
07:39but I was really proud that we were able to kind of turn it around and pull out the start
07:43which was pretty clutch, and then just grind it out, it was a tough track, wasn't going
07:47to look too pretty out there, so I'm happy we were able to get a win in a different way,
07:53so stoked man.
