00:00What a ride! The 2025 Freeride World Tour by Peak Performance has been an incredible adventure.
00:10Five thrilling stops at exciting new locations alongside iconic favorites.
00:15From low tide rock rides, to ripping perfect pow, the mountains and mother nature played with our nerves and made our dreams come true.
00:28We copped brutal cold, minus 30 degrees Celsius in Canada, but scored some of the deepest snow the tour has ever seen on our long-awaited return to France.
00:41New stars were born, blowing minds with huge sends and jaw-dropping tricks.
00:50Noémie Aki claimed the snowboard women's crown with one event to spare in Feverbrune, proving she was truly unstoppable.
01:00Not every day was bluebird and powder. Unpredictability was the name of the game.
01:10With huge crashes, exhilarating highs and crushing lows.
01:17There will be no competition today.
01:21And lots of good times.
01:29With 60% of the riders surviving the cut, the grand finale is going to be the most competitive ever.
01:37A fitting end to an epic season.
01:46Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Yeti Xtreme Verbier presented by Honda.
01:51This is the grand finale of the Freeride World Tour by Peak Performance for 2025.
01:57World titles are on the line. The Bec d'Eros is the backdrop.
02:01My name is Derek Fuse. I'm here with Hadley Hammer.
02:04And we are ready for an absolute firework show here on the Bec, Hadley.
02:10Let's get a look here at what they're pushing on the iconic Bec d'Eros with our GoPro face preview.
02:17Here it is. 30 years ago, this is the venue that was chosen for the first Freeride World Tour.
02:23This thing is steep. We have three different starts.
02:26The commissioners evaluated the snow and this is what we're working with this year.
02:30Start one and two on the Petit Bec and start three about a third of the way down the regular Bec d'Eros.
02:35Again, steep. We're pushing high 40s into the 50s in our steepness.
02:40There are closeouts, mandatory airs, huge cliffs to trick off of.
02:45It's got that northeast aspect, wraps around a little bit more, hits the sun.
02:50The riders have a lot of options here today.
02:53This is the final. This is where it all boils down to the performances on the Bec.
03:00We will be crowning the world champions today on this mountain.
03:05All to play for here on the snowboard men's field.
03:12You can see how steep it is right into that first committing.
03:15Michael Maughan coming into this Geraldine Faschnacht closeout.
03:19Michael Maughan coming into this Geraldine Faschnacht closeout and going over the front there.
03:24That landing proving tricky for Michael Maughan.
03:34We are zooming in on now for the next athlete in the gate, none other than Enzo Nilo.
03:43Heelside edge to control his speed as he comes down now into the heart of the central section
03:48of the Bec de Ros, winding his way through that maze of rock.
03:53Right off the nose, Enzo, clean reception into the landing.
04:02Dead center of the Petitbec and tossing a 360, landing back in control for Holden.
04:07Back in control, there is huge, huge backflip but not able to make the full rotation.
04:19And Jonathan Penfield is now dropping out of start two.
04:23Dropping in, you know, it's interesting listening to Jon Powell talk.
04:26He always wants to find his own line.
04:28Backside three there, frontside on the first one.
04:31So proving he can spin both ways.
04:33Jonathan Penfield now into the lower section of the Petitbec.
04:39That one was for you guys at home watching Jonathan Penfield.
04:45We are now looking at our first rider to take a bite out of start one.
04:49This is Cody Bramwell.
04:51As we said, Cody, Liam and Victor are all in play for the world title.
04:56Victor De La Rue, anything on the podium and he is world champ.
04:59Liam Rivera and Cody Bramwell have an outside chance.
05:02They need to win.
05:05The snow is starting to fly and huge backflip.
05:09Oh, and the landing perfect.
05:10Cody Bramwell with precision technique, getting his way at the slough,
05:15pouring off those cliffs above him.
05:17Backflipping into the explosion.
05:24That was mind-blowing stuff from Cody Bramwell.
05:28He still has more features below him.
05:30My jaw is back up, attached to the ground.
05:33I'm not going to lie.
05:34I'm not going to lie.
05:35I'm not going to lie.
05:36I'm not going to lie.
05:37He still has more features below him.
05:38My jaw is back up, attached to my mouth.
05:41Big 360, pointing it down, making his way again.
05:46This is where the snow is changing and he has just got to make it to the finish line.
05:50Cody Bramwell, we said he was riding a wave of confidence.
05:53Another backflip into the finish.
05:55This man is unstoppable right now.
05:57That was absolutely incredible from Cody Bramwell.
06:02Judges' bars were maxed.
06:04We're going to see what the score is.
06:0792.67.
06:09A well-deserved huge score for Cody Bramwell.
06:16Liam Rivera is competing at home.
06:19He is dropping out of start three.
06:21A completely different approach.
06:22You can see how steep it is.
06:23Just the very heelside edge of his board.
06:26Liam Rivera going directly fall line.
06:30Huge ride off the Hollywood Cliff.
06:33To be able to go into that with just two turns and then solidly land it like that
06:38just shows how good of a rider he is.
06:44Just shows how good of a rider he is.
06:47What a way to start a run.
06:48You haven't really made a turn yet today.
06:50The first thing you do is fly off one of the biggest cliffs on the entire back.
06:55Competing in his own backyard as he pumps a backflip off this lower feature and lands it.
07:01Oh, the judges are going to have their work cut out for them today.
07:04This is what we wanted from the Yeti Extreme Verbier.
07:13See, always right off the top of the podium.
07:16Okay, well the judges have their score in.
07:19It's coming up and it goes to 90.
07:2290 points.
07:23So Liam slotting in just behind Cody Bramwell.
07:27So the man now in second overall is no longer in play for the world title.
07:32Cody still is, but the next man in the gate has...
07:36Well, he's got it all in his hands.
07:41He is underway now.
07:42Victor De La Rue looking to back up his world title.
07:46Starting off right away into the pepper zone with a trick.
07:50Lining up this massive double.
07:53Again, there is so much commitment required.
07:55So much below him.
07:56Into the chute, riding into the sun and the shade.
08:03He comes in here looking for a frontside three.
08:06Landing perfectly.
08:07Holding it in the ball line.
08:09He's got another feature still below him.
08:11Straight air for him going past the bomb holes that the beginning riders took.
08:15And straight lining so fast.
08:18That line between a safe run and a pushing run.
08:21Because again, he just needs to get on the podium.
08:23If he's on the podium, he wins.
08:26If he is fourth with Cody in the hot seat, Cody is world champion.
08:30So the math is going to be critical.
08:34All right, we have the score coming in at 89.
08:37Victor into third, which means that we have a four-time world champion.
08:44Cody Bramwell jumping up, I think, into second.
08:47We'll let the math take care of itself behind the scenes.
08:49So here we go.
08:51Results of today.
08:52Cody Bramwell with a 92.67.
08:55Liam right behind him with a second with a 90.
08:58And Victor rounding out that podium.
09:00Your world champion for the fourth time is Victor De La Rue.
09:05Cody Bramwell jumping from below the cut three events ago to second overall.
09:10And bringing the heat to Victor.
09:12He made him work for that title.
09:21Welcome back to the Yeti Extreme of AirBA.
09:25Powered by Honda.
09:27We are ready to go with Ski Men with world titles at stake.
09:32See his high speed backflip.
09:34Double backflip.
09:35Oscar Mandet, he lands it.
09:37No!
09:39No, not able to hold on.
09:41So close.
09:47Come on.
09:50And Turdell is now underway out of start two.
09:52Lining up with a huge chunk of this.
09:55Upper deck takeoff for Turdell.
10:00Out of start one.
10:01Choosing this line with a little bit more slough,
10:03which we know he can manage well.
10:05Huge mini 360.
10:07A moment there for Carl as he 360'd above all that exposure.
10:14Woo!
10:18Massive 360.
10:21And Carl just going over the front of his skis.
10:32The next man in the gate, Whistler's own Wei Tian Hou.
10:36One of the strongest performers on the Freeride World Tour.
10:40He has had two runs on the tour that were winning runs
10:44that came exploding to a finish or two explosive finishes.
10:49But Wei Tian is feeling confident, feeling good and feeling strong.
10:53Mid turn, right on that downhill ski.
10:56Heading into the closeout with a different direction.
10:59Super smart.
11:01Little drop down and lining up this mass.
11:03A huge backflip for Wei Tian.
11:05Yes, he's got it.
11:07Wei Tian Hou with one of the biggest features on the venue
11:11and a massive 360 over all the rocks.
11:13Yes!
11:14He is not done at all.
11:17Right onto the downhill ski.
11:19You can hear the crowd is electric.
11:28Wei Tian adding a bonus feature at the bottom.
11:31Popping a double through the ice wall.
11:33So a little extra credit there.
11:35It wasn't enough to do the huge backflip with the massive 360.
11:45Here we go.
11:46We got the score coming in.
11:48Passing that of Oscar Manda.
11:5084.33 for Wei Tian Hou.
12:00What will the cliff jumper do?
12:03Getting over the rocks.
12:04Bouncing out of that landing.
12:06Timo, it looks like he's aiming a little bit of a lower takeoff there.
12:09Using that section of the face to regain control.
12:12And Timo going for double.
12:14Laying it out.
12:15Oh!
12:16Huge impact for Timo Rolls-Royce.
12:23I think it has a limit on the distance that you can take it.
12:27And Timo getting absolutely decked on that landing.
12:29His airbag deploying.
12:33Buckle up.
12:35Ross Tester riding out of Snowbird Alta.
12:38And so fast out of the start.
12:41Full commitment.
12:43Great speed control into this closeout.
12:46Yeah, controlling his speed.
12:48So looking like he's going over in the same neighborhood.
12:50Lining up.
12:51360.
12:53Getting over the rocks.
12:54Landing.
12:55Bouncing out of the bomb hole.
12:56And cooking.
12:57Ross Tester absolutely flying out of that landing.
13:00I don't know if he had more planned.
13:23Ross Tester anxiously waiting for the score to come in.
13:27As is Wei Teng Ho.
13:28The score to beat in 84.33.
13:30Coming in at a 76.67.
13:32So Ross Tester moving into second.
13:39Toby Rafford came onto the scene with a huge splash in Spain.
13:44Toby getting things started aggressively here up at the top of the 50m.
13:48This is a fascinating venue for Toby.
13:51He's known for his smooth, dripping-like style.
13:54But you can see that he still has just as good of technique as everyone else.
13:57As he just laced through the closeout.
14:00Huge 360.
14:03And bouncing out of that landing.
14:10Trying to get his poles back into his hand.
14:12Toby Rafford, no.
14:14He doesn't quite make it up onto that feature.
14:17It looked like he was just trying to get his pole back into his hand.
14:20That's so distracting.
14:25We await for the score from the judges coming in.
14:29We'll see how they compare that to Ross's.
14:31So 72.67.
14:33So Toby moving into third.
14:37Virgil Didier over here.
14:39This is mountain goat territory.
14:41And I feel like it's right up Virgil's alley.
14:43He's the other guy in contention.
14:45Rookie of the year on the men's side.
14:48Rookie racing technique.
14:50But can do some huge airs.
14:52Big tricks.
14:54As you see, he's making his way down this venue.
14:56He's got one feature under his belt.
14:58This one is so committed.
15:00He needs to land this.
15:01Virgil Didier, he's back up.
15:04As you see at the bottom of your screen, what he did that above.
15:07You'll understand why we just had that moment.
15:10And I think Virgil is just going to call it.
15:13Whoa!
15:15Get in, but show us that he can do it all as well.
15:23He just never gets pushed around by the snow.
15:26Taking the absolute upper deck takeoff.
15:28And no, into a perfect somersault.
15:31Ben Richards does like front flip.
15:33Didn't even slow him down.
15:35He's not going to let that break his flow.
15:37360.
15:39Break his flow.
15:40360.
15:41And Ben Richards now cooking.
15:43Double backflip.
15:44A third one.
15:45Going even further.
15:47Oh, my God.
15:50I mean, he's out of the powder cloud.
15:53Certainly will have some control.
15:55Dr. Ben said, you know, I already had the control issue.
15:57So, I figured I might as well go big.
15:59And big is an understatement.
16:03Now, Valley lining this one up.
16:05A lofty 360 landing.
16:07Bouncing out of the bomb hole.
16:08He is clean.
16:12Can he get all the way over?
16:13Not quite able to get to where Wei Chen did.
16:16Going cork seven.
16:17Valley, no.
16:18Short on the rotation.
16:30Now, it is getting heavy here in Ski Men.
16:34Marcus Goguen, he needs to finish in the top four
16:37if he wants to be world champion.
16:38Martin Bender needs to win this comp
16:41if he wants to be world champion.
16:43Out of start one with heat.
16:45This is where we saw Cody do this impressive run.
16:48And Martin is following suit,
16:51dancing his way through the rocks,
16:53through the exposure,
16:54as he lines up this huge potential double.
16:58Yeah, popping and playing down there.
17:00Bender with an enormous 360.
17:03He is clean on the landing.
17:05Now, he has got to get control back.
17:07The crowd is going bonkers.
17:12Into this feature that has just been gobbling people up.
17:15Cork seven.
17:17No, Bender.
17:19And the ski also is off.
17:36Only one man remains.
17:39He is at the top of the beck.
17:41This is Marcus Goguen.
17:43Valley or Martin, or even Ben,
17:46needed to win this event.
17:48All three of those guys crashed.
17:50So, whatever this score is,
17:52Marcus Goguen is world champ.
17:54He is moving down to this Vashnaut closeout,
17:57taking it, and now picking up speed.
18:00He is looking to get high on this feature.
18:06Picking up speed.
18:07A huge backflip for Marcus Goguen over the bars.
18:11With the front punch.
18:13Holy moly.
18:15This feature, I don't think very many people were looking at.
18:21He has an eye for original lines.
18:23He is always looking out for different stuff.
18:26Rodeo five.
18:29Marcus Goguen with a huge run.
18:35Marcus Goguen is the world champion.
18:38And Wei Tian Ho is the extreme champion.
18:51Here we go.
18:52This is our daily scoreboard for the Extreme Verbier.
18:55Wei Tian Ho, first podium win on the beck.
18:59What a way to make a statement.
19:01Right behind him, the American Ross Tester
19:04and Toby Radford, the rookie with third.
19:07Marcus Goguen, the brand new freeride world champion.
19:11Martin Bender and Toby Radford
19:14jumping up onto the overall podium
19:16with his performance today.
19:27Ready to go up at the top, Ski Women.
19:30We have so many things at stake
19:33and this place just delivers time and again
19:35with iconic moments.
19:37Our first athlete out of the gate is Lily Bradley.
19:42Yeah, Lily Bradley kind of thrives off of pace.
19:45They ski so fast.
19:47Taking that one perfect.
19:51And Lily Bradley now in the steepest part.
19:54You can see the slough just cascading down below their skis.
19:57Look what is below them.
19:59No.
20:00Lily Bradley going for the backflip.
20:03They came up a little short, but they are under control.
20:06Got control of their skis.
20:08So there was no chill in that run.
20:14Same kind of veteran self-arrest skills.
20:18Just incredible, incredible commitment.
20:22As we are looking at the Bavarian Barbarian.
20:26Lena Kohler has brought the thunder this year.
20:30Lena making her way through,
20:32finding that entrance right above the closeout.
20:38Lena Kohler making short work of that in full control.
20:41Now going to be looking to get the right angle.
20:43Going for the upper deck.
20:45Is she going to be able to hold it?
20:46Bouncing out of the backslap and she's up.
20:48No, down again.
20:50That angle has been really, really difficult today.
20:53Lena Kohler, another victim to that takeoff angle
20:56on the Faschner closeout cliff.
20:59She's got some discomfort in her leg, but she's down.
21:02She's safe and sound after her first trip down the back.
21:06All right.
21:07Well, the judges have had their say
21:09and the score for Lena Kohler of 48-3-3.
21:15Our next rider in the gate,
21:16one of the most electric athletes on the Freeride World Tour,
21:19Molly Armanino.
21:21Just look at what is below her.
21:24We can hear the crowd ramping up
21:27as Molly comes towards the edge of this cliff.
21:31Yeah, a tight little gap.
21:33She points it, follows the slough,
21:35and oh, the impact just too much for Molly Armanino to handle.
21:46Now she's in this little tube.
21:47All she has to do is let go,
21:50follow the slough.
21:51She makes it down to the landing,
21:53but it's so flat.
21:54The backslap absolutely ruthless
21:57as Molly comes out of both skis there,
22:00tumbling down this drone angle.
22:02Gives you a sense of the scale
22:04of how far Molly traveled down there in the air.
22:07We are back to the top with Verbier's own Jenna Keller.
22:15She can put herself on her downhill ski
22:18as we're seeing right in front of us.
22:20So controlled, so smooth, so powerful.
22:28And there you go.
22:29Technique to spare
22:31as Jenna perfectly executing that Geraldine Fashnot cliff.
22:39Jenna Keller lining up another feature,
22:41getting the corner off that
22:43and heading into this technical section.
22:49Yes, that's where you need to land.
22:52While it may have felt like she slowed down too much,
22:55she's the first person to ski away from that on her feet today.
23:02So we're going to see the score coming in now.
23:04Comfortably overtaking Lena Kohler.
23:06An 82 for Jenna Keller.
23:09All smiles again.
23:11Yeah, so that added pressure of doing this at home
23:14in front of the home crowd is intense,
23:16but Jenna Keller lived up to it.
23:20We've got a very tight battle
23:22up at the top of the rankings in ski women.
23:25Our two main contenders,
23:27Astrid Chez Luce and Justine Defourlep.
23:30If either of those women win, they are world champion.
23:33I mean, Justine is in the lead, but the lead is slim.
23:37Well, Astrid being in the position of the hunter right now.
23:42The target is on Justine's back.
23:44Astrid has it firmly in her sights now
23:47with an opportunity to step into the pressure
23:51and deliver a run that will deliver her a world title.
23:55Astrid Chez Luce now on the back.
23:58Oh, and immediately grabbed by a shark,
24:02a rock, the first rock on the face takes her ski.
24:07That is unbelievably heartbreaking for Astrid.
24:11Oh, that is...
24:14Not the run that she wanted.
24:16Just so tricky.
24:17As you said, Derek, that top section can't be understated.
24:22Just one, two, and right on that third turn,
24:27the rock just took her ski.
24:30There's so many things pouring through a rider's mind
24:33in those moments.
24:34She makes that turn.
24:35She can't get away from the trajectory,
24:37and that ski just comes to a dead stop
24:40for Astrid Chez Luce,
24:42and it's over before it begins.
24:44Oh, that is the true heartbreak of Freeride there.
24:49Yeah, there it is.
24:50The emotion just fully hitting her.
24:54The intensity here of Freeride,
24:56Astrid Chez Luce with...
24:59I mean, heartbreak is the only way to describe it.
25:04Justine still has to do a run.
25:06Jenna's right on her tails,
25:08and another rider that's not there
25:10just to safely take the win,
25:13she wants to prove that she wins for a reason.
25:17C'est mon maman.
25:20C'est ma journée.
25:26Maman, t'es ici?
25:29We got this.
25:31On va skier ensemble.
25:32Accroche-toi.
25:34Canadian Ski Royalty, Justine Dufour-Lapointe
25:37Dufour-Lapointe looking for another Freeride world title.
25:40As I said before, she is very comfortable
25:42performing under pressure.
25:44Justine Dufour-Lapointe on course.
25:49As she lines up, again, this top air
25:51which cannot be ignored at all.
25:54You're right over the closeout with consequence
25:56as she's able to do it.
25:59So Justine taking her time,
26:01getting the trajectory right,
26:03landing clean, and so far executing well.
26:14Justine, smart.
26:16Smart riding.
26:22Justine Dufour-Lapointe,
26:26Woo-hoo!
26:29She feels good.
26:30I think she knows that she's got that title in her pocket.
26:42We made it!
26:43We made it!
26:47Dropping in for Justine Dufour-Lapointe.
26:50A 77-point run.
26:52That puts her into second

28:02as we look over at start three.
28:04Nuria Castanberon sitting in fourth overall
28:08getting her run going.
28:11The intensity of what Nuria is living right now
28:15is absolutely maxed off the scale.
28:18It's so steep. It's so scary.
28:20And she now is into it.
28:22Motoring down the bottom part here of the Bec de Ros.
28:32Our next rider in the gate is Ana Martinez.
28:35The steeper the better for the Chamonix local.
28:38Getting right into the heart of it.
28:40The snow just cascading over, as you called it,
28:43the cheese grater of rocks on the back.
28:45As Ana Martinez now getting into this lower maze section
28:49where there are so many options
28:51and still so many rocks and cliffs looming below.
28:54So Ana Martinez using every feature available to her
28:58as she lines up a sizable chunk of rock
29:01clean through there as well.
29:03And now she just has to navigate the lower apron
29:06on the Bec de Ros, the finish line.
29:08This moment that wraps up the entire season.
29:12Michaela Davis-Meehan.
29:14She's opting for start one.
29:16Sort of a powdery experience.
29:20Taking her first feature.
29:22Again, everything below is just rock.
29:26Look how big the bomb holes are below this feature.
29:29Just massive. Really smart.
29:31Going a completely different direction.
29:33Avoiding everything below her.
29:35But I think she's taking a play out of the ski women.
29:38Whoa, finding her own takeoff and her own landing.
29:41A totally different trajectory there for Michaela Davis-Meehan
29:45and executing it perfectly.
29:48The score to beat, 74.
29:50Going up, up, up.
29:5183 points for Michaela Davis-Meehan.
29:57The last rider of the day is in the start gate.
30:01It is your Freeride World Champion.
30:05Noemi Aki, the Freeride World Tour Champion is on the back.
30:10She's the rider that she can really move side to side on her board.
30:13She's so strong.
30:15She keeps the pace going.
30:16Going off the nose of that feature.
30:18Getting control immediately with the heel side edge.
30:22And Noemi Aki now proving the big mountain chops that she has.
30:26We can see her making her way down.
30:28There's this big looming double below her.
30:32As she lines up, popping one.
30:34Full release to the fall line.
30:36Noemi Aki holds it.
30:38That was so committed.
30:40The judges said they want a commitment.
30:42Noemi just gave it to them on a platter.
30:45Impressed with which other icon.
30:47We saw that with Lily.
30:48And here comes the score.
30:50Coming in for the current champion.
30:5289.67.
30:54So backing up her world title with a win in Verbier.
30:58Noemi Aki, she is very rapidly approaching legend status.
31:03And she's only been on the tour for one season.
31:06We may be witnessing the start of a new snowboard woman's dynasty.
31:10As Noemi Aki, four wins out of six starts on the Freeride World Tour this year.
31:15That is incredible.
31:17With an 89.67 Hadley to take the win here.
