Across Northern Australia, hot and humid conditions are par for the course this time of year of year. But while many have the option to retreat indoors to beat the heat, it has been a brutal few months for those without a home.

00:15I had lots of problems over there. Lots of problems.

00:28He says the wet season is usually a difficult time for rough sleepers like him. But this
00:33year he says the conditions are unbearable.
00:37It's bad when it's wet. You might get sick. Sometimes you won't sleep well because it's
00:49so boring.
00:50As the wet season continues, experts are urging for those in the community to look out for
00:54those most at risk because for many, the soaking rain or the scorching sun are not just an
01:01inconvenience but a matter of survival.
01:06Community service providers believe more can be done to address the problem.
01:11Mobile cooling stations, which is something that happens in Sydney on very hot days. We've
01:16got the opportunity now to look to other jurisdictions to see what is being done and see what we
01:21could potentially implement here in the Northern Territory.
01:26Others in the sector say compassion is key.
01:29Show some respect. Give them some dignity. Again, you could be next. You could be the
01:37next person sleeping rough.
01:38Black, yellow and white. We're all the same. No different. We're all equals.
